Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources has revealed the tax details on petroleum goods to the National Assembly.
As per the report provided by the Ministry, the government is levying Rs. 46.28 tax per liter diesel whereas, tax per liter petrol is Rs. 35.5.
The government increased the price of various petroleum products as follow:
- Petrol prices are up by Rs. 2.98
- High-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs. 5.92
- Kerosene by Rs. 5.94
- Light diesel oil by Rs. 5.93 per liter
Previously, Senate Committee on Petroleum brought the matter of assembling the prices of gas and RNLG was under consideration.
Secretary of Petroleum briefed the committee about the four different prices of gas in Pakistan. He said that the production of liquefied natural gas won’t be sufficient to meet the energy requirements in the country. The chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum remarked that such initiatives can lead Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh towards deprivation.
