RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the Men’s Central Contract for 2022-23 which will come into effect from July 1.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has included a total of 33 players in different categories of both red and white ball. Last season, the PCB had given central contracts to 20 players.
In all three styles of cricket, Pakistan captains Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Hassan Ali have been awarded cricket contracts for both red and white ball.
Apart from them, only 10 players have been given red ball contracts. Among these players, Azhar Ali has been included in A category while Fawad Alam has been included in B category. Abdullah Shafiq, Noman Ali and Naseem Shah have been included in the Red Ball C category while Sarfraz Ahmed, Shaun Masood, Yasir Shah, Abid Ali and Saud Shakeel have been included in the D category.
Similarly, only 11 players have been given white ball contracts. Among them are Fakhr Zaman and Shadab Khan in A category, Haris Rauf in B category and Mohammad Nawaz in C category of white ball contract while Shahnawaz Dhani, Usman Qadir, Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Khushdal Shah, Zahid Mahmood and Mohammad Wasim Jr. This type of cricket is also placed in the D category of the contract.

Seven players who have excelled in domestic cricket have been included in the emerging category. Ali Usman, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Qasim Akram, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Harira and Salman Ali Agha are part of this category.
