The Government Announces a Reduction in Urea Prices

Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar announced that the price of urea has been reduced by Rs375 per 50kg bag. The purpose of this step is to facilitate the farmers. The updated price of urea is Rs. 1,665 per bag.

Recently, in a meeting with Pakistan Kissan Ittehad President Khalid Mehmood Khokhar discussed the issues faced by the farmer community and the possible ways to resolve those issues. He said, “The development and modernization of the agriculture sector was a top priority of the government, which was evident from the initiation of various agricultural programmes.”

Khalid Khokhar highlighted the overall prices of fertilizers had reduced waiving Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC), however, the government took measures to ensure the adequate for farmers. “The government was committed to providing full support for the farmers to increase farm productivity,” he added.
