During a recent meeting with Mr. Imran Khan, Deputy Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council UK (CWEIC) Mr. Hugo Swire announced the potential partnership with Pakistan.
The meeting concluded that a hub will be set up in Karachi to encourage business and trade opportunities between both groups.
The meeting included all the major official form both parties i.e. Mr. Hugo Swire, Mr. Anwar Pervez, the Chief Executive of Bestway Group and the Chairman of Conservative Friends of Pakistan (CFOP), Lord Zameer Choudhry. PM Imran Khan attended the meeting along with his advisor on Commerce Mr. Abdul Razzaq Dawood and the Chairman Board of Investment Mr. Syed Zubair Haider Gilani.
Speaking at the occasion, Swire expressed his remarks by saying, “I am delighted to have had such a successful visit to Pakistan, who are an integral part of Commonwealth trade. We’ve held fruitful discussions with the Honorable Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Minister of Finance as well as senior business leaders. Through Strategic Partnerships with the Government of Pakistan as well as private sector businesses, we aim to support Pakistan’s efforts of expanding its trade with fellow Commonwealth countries. We also have plans of setting up a hub in Karachi which will further support local businesses in their efforts to connect with partners across the Commonwealth. We look forward to receiving a strong business delegation from Pakistan at the next Commonwealth Business Forum.”
Furthermore, Mr. Zameer Choudhry appreciated the Government of Pakistan for the assurance of future commitment with the Commonwealth.
