The Lahore High Court, while ruling on the petition against Hamza Shahbaz, declared his election as Punjab Chief Minister null and void. The decision was taken by a five-member larger bench headed by Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan on the appeal of PTI and others by a four-to-one majority.
According to a Pak Revenue News correspondent, if the order is the same, then Hamza Shahbaz will not be the Chief Minister of Punjab and at the same time, his Punjab cabinet will be dissolved. The decision will be posted on the Lahore High Court website.
Speaking outside the court after the verdict, the lawyers said that when the election itself would be annulled and the Chief Minister would be re-elected, Hamza Shahbaz would not remain the Chief Minister.
Legal experts say that Hamza Shahbaz is no longer the Chief Minister of Punjab and his cabinet has also been dissolved, so the election for the new Chief Minister of Punjab will be held again.
