Saudi Arabia Lifts Ban on Flights from Pakistan

After the latter’s progress in containing the coronavirus outbreak, Saudi Arabia lifted a ban on international flights coming from Pakistan on Wednesday.

The government of Saudi Arabia banned all flights coming from India, Brazil and Argentina in a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) over their inability to monitor the Covid-19 outbreak.

NOTAM said that by allowing flights from India, Brazil and Argentina, we should not endanger the lives of our people. In the meantime, after managing to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country, the Kingdom has removed travel restrictions from Pakistan.

KSA agreed on 13 September to lift the travel restrictions in the Kingdom levied earlier on 1 January 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The country’s interior ministry had confirmed, according to local media reports, that airports, ports, and border routes will be operational as of January 1.
