Speaking at a conference in Islamabad, Chairman Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Gen Muzammil Hussain informed that Pakistan seeks $26 billion for the construction of three Mega Dams in the country.
Almost $15 billion is required for the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam, $8 billion for Dasu Dam and $3 billion for Mohmand Dam.
Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project is going to be the 5th highest concrete-face-rock-fill Dam (CFRD) in the world, which would be finalized during high flow season in 2025.
Muzammil Hussain also emphasized on the utilization and maintenance of water resources.
