Pakistan Resumes Trade with Iran

Trade activities between Pakistan and Iran resumed on Wednesday after the reopening of two more trade crossing points in Taftan following a decision taken last month by the National Command and Operations Centre.

As per the sources, after the coronavirus outbreak in Iran, these trade gateways were closed two and a half months ago, and later their closure was extended as the pandemic reached Pakistan too.

After the reopening of Zero Point Gate in Taftan, as many as 17 Iranian trawlers loaded with food items and LPG gas tankers arrived in Pakistan via transit gate, besides importing edible commodities began.

Local government officials in Taftan said trade activities between the two countries will proceed three times a week in compliance with standard operating procedures.
